When building a wedding album for my couples I give them a choice to pick images or let me. Funny enough Whitney emailed me and was having trouble narrowing down the picks. Well Whitney I am having the same problem. There are so many images that I just had to have in this post. Whitney and Chris did such a great job of giving me so many great details to photograph. The interesting thing is as you look through the wedding photos you will see the weather was not the best, but we still came up with some photoshoot areas. We had a few rush photography mini sessions but we got it done and stayed mostly dry.
I always try to give a shout out to the other wedding venders who are such a huge part of the day and this day has a bunch!
Met Whitney and the bridesmaids in the morning at Charles Penzone in Dublin. I have been there so many times I am getting to know my way around pretty well. The staff is always fun to work with. Also part of this day was Jonah Epps Videography and his crew. You might even see them in a few wedding photos but that’s all part of the story. After hair and make-up we headed to the Westin in downtown Columbus for the getting ready photos.
With the weather and timing Whitney and Chris wanted to do a first look before the ceremony. I have photographed several weddings at the Westin so I knew the ballroom would be great for this. I was joined by one of my associate photographers Heather to get a couple different looks. First looks are really meant to be special. I always try to create something that is picture perfect but also creates a good memory. As always I try to sneak away and let a Bride and Groom have a few minutes alone.
So the rain was on the way and we jumped into the limo for some outside photos before the ceremony. The Ohio Statehouse is always a great location with a small bridal party if we encounter rain. The light coming in is always so soft for portrait type lighting and the columns ad a dramatic look.
This ceremony was held at the Columbus Museum of Art. If you have not visited it is a great wedding venue for ceremony or reception. Depending on what works are being shown changes where you can do some mini bridal sessions. There is not another location like it in Columbus.
We ended the evening in style. This was the first time at the wedding venue called The Vue. Great look and layout to the place. There is a loft that allowed Heather to get some great down shots over all the guests. The evening started in the second side with live band and drinks. Over all a great reception spot to check out.
I want to say thank you to all the guest and to Whitney and Chris for letting me photograph your wedding day.
